No fewer than 510 communities in 454 local governments have so far benefited from MTN Foundation intervention programmes, in partnership with public spirited-persons, the Director of the Foundation, Mr Dennis Okoro has said.
Addressing guests at a dinner organised by the Foundation in honour of nominators of What We Can Do Together at the Sheraton Hotel, Abuja, Okoro said the Foundation was delighted to celebrate people who decided to make lives better in their various communities by providing social interventions facilities for the people.
He said in Phase Three, 110 communities had benefited from the intervention programmes provided by the 100 nominators.
He said: “The MTN Foundation is pleased to be a part of this process. It has been an honour working with these wonderful men and women who have contributed to improving the quality of life in their communities.
“People like Jackson Acho, who facilitated the provision of school learning materials in the Amaise community in Abia State; or Aisha Bello, who nominated a health centre in Anguwa Chiroma community of Gombe State, to receive health equipment and supplies, and Salami Toyin, who facilitated the installation of a solar powered borehole in the Arometa community of Oyo State are what kids of today like to call the real MVPs.”
