The Labour Party’s, LP, candidate for the 2023 Abeokuta South Federal Constituency election, Tolulope Phillips, has officially registered as a member of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, in Ogun State.

Phillips who registered on Tuesday at Ward 7, Ijaye in Abeokuta South Local Government had earlier joined the major opposition party in the state shortly after the last election.

Speaking with newsmen, Phillips said he is convinced that PDP is well placed to rule Ogun State and Nigeria come 2027.

He added that there is a need to rescue Ogun and Nigeria from “clueless leadership who are impoverishing Nigerians on a daily basis with needless and hardship policies.”

Phillips said “We all witnessed what happened in Ogun State during the last governorship election. We knew who truly won the mandate of the people but sadly it has ended the way it did.

“But I am sure the next election will be different. PDP is well positioned and the party is going to win by God’s grace.”

He urged Nigerian youths to improve on their political participation, saying “we cannot continue to abandon the political space to the charlatans.”
