The President of the Association of Food, Beverage and Tobacco Employers, Chief Patrick Anegbe, has reiterated on the need for government to address her policy on the ease of doing business in Nigeria.
He made this call recently at the 40th Annual General Meeting of the association held in Lagos, a statement by the association said.
Anegbe said, “Many of our members because of the harsh economy have closed shops, some members have some of their lines shut down, resulting in reduction of workers, which is increasing unemployment outside there.
Some right now are just surviving and if nothing is done to improve the current situation in the country, there will be further cut in employment.”
He added that the cost of production was very high.
He added, “We talk about the infrastructure that are not there, we don’t have electricity. We have to produce our water. The roads are not there, cost of borrowing is very high and virtually everything we have to provide for ourselves and we feel it should not be so.
