The mechanisation of agricultural activities would begin in 632 local government areas across the country in September, the Federal Government said on Sunday.
Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development, Sabo Nanono, said this during the South-South agro-industrial inspection/town hall meeting in Calabar, Cross River State.
He said the country’s agricultural mechanisation initiative would be driven by the private sector and explained that agricultural industrialisation was Nigeria’s key to economic viability.
“This mechanisation revolution is going to be kick-started in 632 Local Government Areas in the next six months across the country and will be private sector driven,” Nanono stated in a statement issued in Abuja by his ministry
