Erik ten Hag has been dealt another injury blow.
His trusted left-back, Luke Shaw has been injured and is set for an ‘extended period’ on the sidelines.
The England international has suffered a muscle injury that would keep him out for a long period.
Shaw has been a regular face in ten Hag XI, featuring for 90 minutes in Manchester United’s first two games.
The Athletic now reports that the player will not be available in Saturday’s home game against Nottingham Forest and next week’s showdown with Arsenal.
Manchester United, in a brief statement on Thursday, confirmed the report
“Manchester United defender Luke Shaw has sustained an injury which will rule him out of forthcoming games.
“The muscle issue is still being assessed,” the club said.
