Ahead of the Eid al-Adha festival celebrations, the Katsina State Police Command has sent a warning note to mischief makers, social miscreants, popularly referred to as “Kauraye” and other hoodlums in the state to desist from fomenting trouble or face the wrath of law during the festivities.
Police spokesman in the state, ASP Sadiq Abubakar, conveyed the warning in a statement on behalf of Katsina Police Commissioner, CP Aliyu Abubakar Musa.
He said: “The command uses this medium to draw the attention of mischief makers, social miscreants, popularly known as “Kauraye”, and other hoodlums to desist from fomenting trouble before, during, and after the Sallah festivities.
“The command, in partnership with other security agencies, is fully prepared to deal decisively with any troublemaker(s) and ensure the security and safety of the lives and property of the inhabitants of the state,” CP Musa said.
Against this backdrop, the command called on parents and guardians to play their part by warning and ensuring that their children/wards stay off substance abuse and other forms of anti-social activities during and after the festival.
The command also appealed to the good people of Katsina State to provide the command and other security agencies with useful and timely information on suspected criminal activities for prompt response so as to ensure a hitch-free Sallah celebration.
