The Oyo State government has banned any form of meetings by head teachers or teachers during school hours, whether within or outside public school premises.

The Chairman of the Oyo State Universal Basic Education Board, Dr. Nureni Aderemi Adeniran, announced this on Tuesday while monitoring the resumption of schools in Ibadan, the Oyo State capital.

Adeniran said the move was to ensure strict adherence to the unified school timetable in all public schools in the state.

“This is a warning to all head teachers and teachers to desist from holding meetings during school hours. Henceforth, any primary school head teacher who indulges in such acts will be severely dealt with,” he said.

Adeniran reiterated SUBEB’s commitment to leveraging technology to advance the education system in Oyo State.

He stated this on Tuesday during a three-day capacity-building session on the use of the BESDA Attendance Monitoring Information System.

Adeniran encouraged participants to learn from the process, saying, “We have brought you together to develop your skills on the use of the BAMIS APP.”

He commended the Universal Basic Education Commission for conceiving the BAMIS APP as a strategy to improve performance in terms of input, output punctuality, regularity, monitoring, and evaluation of learning activities.
