The executive chairman of the Lagos State Internal Revenue Service, Mr Ayodele Subair, has applauded the former State Governor and the All Progressive Congress, Presidential candidate, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, and the incumbent Governor, Mr Babajide Sanwo-Olu, for revolutionalising tax system in Lagos State.
While commending the staff members of the LIRS, Subair said the state’s unprecedented success records of tax revolution where about 70 per cent of its income is internally is traceable to the duo.
The LIRS chairman made the remarks during a courtesy visit by the management of the Daily Telegraph Publishing Company Limited, publishers of New Telegraph Newspapers, led by the Managing Director, Ayodele Aminu, and the Daily Editor, Juliet Bumah.
The courtesy visit was made by the management of the Newspaper to intimate him about the decision to honour him with an award of leadership excellence at a ceremony to be held later in the year.
While thanking the management for the honour, he said “Testament to our former governor, Asiwaju Ahmed Tinubu who had that vision to create some independent agencies like the LIRS and make the state less reliant on the Federal Government’s allocation.
