Transfer: No club wants you – Cristiano Ronaldo told to stay at United

Manchester United striker, Cristiano Ronaldo has been told to make do with the Europa League at the club as nobody wants to sign him.

The Portugal international’s future at Old Trafford still hangs in the balance with less than two weeks to go until the new season.

But whilst the 37-year-old football icon wants to join a Champions League team ahead of the new season, he has been told to accept he is going to stay with his current employers.

Alex Crook, a talkSPORT transfer journalist, who is also an avid Manchester United fan, says that at the moment no club is interested in signing the former Real Madrid and Juventus superstar.

Ronaldo returned to England and reportedly held crunch talks regarding his future with the club on Tuesday.

But whilst it’s still unclear as to how talks went, Crook stated the Portugal captain will need to start getting on with the fact he is staying at Old Trafford.

“He can say as many times as he likes that he wants to leave the football club, but he needs to find someone willing to take him on,” he explained on Wednesday’s White and Jordan show.

“At the moment, the super clubs, the Champions League clubs that he yearns to play for aren’t forthcoming.

“Again overnight, Oliver Kahn at Bayern Munich has said he doesn’t fit the play they want to play. Paris Saint-Germain are not following up the owners’ interests.

“So, the question for Ronaldo – with Thomas Tuchel also not interested in taking him to [Chelsea], even though they don’t have an out and out striker on their books – who is going to sign Cristiano Ronaldo?

“The answer at the moment is nobody,” he added.
