Kaduna: Security operatives repel bandits’ attack, rescue three persons

The Kaduna State Police Command on Tuesday, said a combined team of operatives repelled bandits’ attack on commuters along Kaduna-Abuja road.

In a statement signed by the Kaduna State Police Command’s Public Relations Officer, ASP Mohammed Jalinge, said the operatives rescued three kidnap victims and recovered eight bandits’ operational motorcycles.

“The Joint Police and Military Operation Puff Adder and Operation Thunder Strike intercepted a group of bandits at Sabon Sara village, attempting to gain access to the Kaduna-Abuja Highway,” he said.

According to the statement, the security operatives observed the suspicious movement of the bandits and exchanged fire arms just as the bandits escaped, leaving one of the abductees; a Chinese expatriate and two others.

He said the bandits also abandoned eight of their operational motorcycles.

He said the victims have been taken to a hospital for medical attention, while items recovered from the bandits are being analyzed.

The Kaduna State Commissioner of Police, CP Yekin Ayoku, applauded the commitment and synergy between the Police and other security agencies and encouraged officers at all levels to sustain the same for the interest of public safety.
