All Progressives Congress (APC), reconciliation committee has arrived Gombe State following petition of the Senator representing Gombe central, Danjuma Goje.

The committee led by Sen. Abdullahi Adamu, Chairman All Progressives said they were in the state to have first-hand knowledge of the brewing challenges in Gombe.

Briefing newsmen in the early hours of Friday, Adamu revealed that the committee would pass requisite position to the national body once Goje’s position is gathered.

He dismissed insinuations that the party is in a state of anarchy, adding that APC in Gombe is alive and strong.

Adamu said, “We are on a mission to reconcile any perceived misunderstanding, conflicts in our great party. After advertisement in six national dailies and NTA advising that anybody that wants to reach us will be provided ways and means to do so. In Gombe we received just one petition and the petition is from our colleague in the National Assembly, former governor of the state Senator Danjuma Goje, the petitioner.

“We will notwithstanding that it is the petitioner who did not turn up to the hearing of the petition but because we want to be as fair as we can, we want to go out of our way, the ordinary to listen to distinguished Senator Danjuma Goje, give him opportunity to come and address us as a committee.”

Commenting on who the leader of the party in the state is, Adamu noted that the governor is in charge of the APC in state, while the president is the leader at the national level alongside party executives who engage in day to day running of the party.

“There is only one driver in any vehicle and in any human organisation there is only one person who can lead even among cattle, I’m a cattle rearer but am not Fulani.’’
