NCDC deploys 1,258 personnel for Okowa father’s burial

NSCDC-MENThe Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps says it has deployed 1, 258 personnel ahead of Okowa father’s burial and the coronation of the Olu of Warri.

The Delta State Commandant of the NSCDC, Akinsanya Abiodun stated this on Thursday in Asaba.

A statement by the Command Public Relations Officer, DSC Peters Okwechime, revealed that the Commandant approved the deployment of personnel.

“The Commandant approved 758 officers to provide air tight security coverage for the burial ceremony of the Governor’s late fathers Burial in Owa-Oyibo and 500 personnel for the coronation ceremony of the Olu of Warri on the 21st of August 2021 simultaneously.

“The NSCDC boss said that the personnel were drafted from the Rapid Response Team, Counter Terrorism Unit, Armed Squad, Agro Rangers, the Intelligence and Investigation Unit and the Tactical Squad.

“He also directed the Area Commanders covering Owa-Oyibo and Warri to monitor and supervise the men to ensure a hitch-free celebrations during and after the events” the statement said.

The State Commandant urged criminals and troublemakers to steer clear, saying that the command is mapping out strategies to clamp them down if they fail to repent or relocate.

He advised all Deltans to go about their legitimate business without fear of molestation.

Recall that Okowa’s father died few months ego and had been buried without ceremony as result of the COVID-19 pandemic.
