How 23 MDAs received N372bn for capital projects

A total of 23 Ministries, Departments and Agencies of government got about N372.04bn in the third quarter of 2019 for implementation of the capital components of the 2019 budget.

The amount which was released to these MDAs is contained in the third quarter Budget Implementation Report which was released on Thursday by the Budget Office of the Federation.

The 2019 budget which was signed by the President, Major General Muhammadu Buhari (retd.) had capital expenditure of N2.09tn, recurrent expenditure of N4.05tn, statutory transfers of N502bn, and special intervention of N500bn.

The budget implementation report stated that out of the N372.07bn released to the 23 MDAs, about N372.04bn was cash backed by the government.

The document said that out of the N372.07bn, the sum of N251.53bn was released as First Batch or Warrant, N116.22bn as Online Authority to Incur Expenditure and N4.29bn as Manual AIEs.

A breakdown of the amount released showed that the Ministry of Power with N121.05bn got the highest capital releases during the third quarter of last year.
