The new Managing Director of the Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria, Rabiu Yadudu, officially took over the leadership of FAAN on Wednesday after the agency’s former boss, Saleh Dunoma, handed over the mantle of leadership to him (Yadudu).

At the handover ceremony in Abuja, Dunoma urged the new FAAN boss to take the authority to greater heights and try to meet the important demands of stakeholders in the sector.

He said, “One of the major stakeholders in this sector are airlines and they have a lot of demands. The demands from airlines are not easy to meet but we need to be very careful with them.

“They are one of our major sources of revenue, so you cannot ignore them when making decisions.”

Dunoma told his successor that he should ensure that FAAN embraced technology.

“FAAN must continue to use technology, although this changes on a daily basis in the sector and we are finding it tough to catch up. However, we are not deterred,” he stated.
