The Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria has suspended one of its staff at Yola International Airports for allegedly stealing from a pilgrim.

A staff of the agency identified as Jennifer Luka was on Thursday arrested for allegedly stealing $600 belonging to a pilgrim at the airport.

The General Manager, Corporate Affairs, FAAN, Mrs Henrietta Yakubu, said on Friday that following the report, the agency had suspended the aviation security officer involved.

Yakubu said the suspension would be indefinite, pending the completion of investigation into the case.

She said, “The Authority has consequently handed over the erring officer to the appropriate security agency for further questioning and prosecution.

“FAAN deeply regrets this unfortunate incident and the conduct of Jennifer, which does not reflect the values of the agency and its staff.”

She said that the traveling public should be assured that the airports remained safe and secure for all users.
