Stock Exchange capitalisation closed negative on second day

Activities on the floor of the Nigerian Stock Exchange have again closed on a negative on the second trading day for this week.

The Al Share Index fell by 0.42 per cent or 151.38 basis points to close at 36,165.93 basis points compared to Monday’s closing of 36,317.31 basis points.

The market capitalisation also fell by 0.42 per cent or 52 billion Naira to close at 12,465 trillion Naira as against previous closing of 12,517 trillion Naira.

A sum of 144 million shares worth about 1.5 billion Naira were traded in 3,716.00 deals were 14 stocks appreciated while 26 depreciated.

Gainers
At the top of the gainers’ list is CHAMPION BREW PLC with an opening prices of N2.34 per share and a closing price of N2.50 per share, gaining 0.16 kobo or 6.84 per cent while NEIMETH INTERNATIONAL PHARMACEUTICALS PLC came second with an opening price of 0.83 kobo per share and a closing price of 0.87 kobo per share, gaining 0.04 kobo or 4.82 per cent. Then CUTIX PLC which opened at N2.11 per share, closed at N2.21 per share, gaining 0.10 kobo or 4.74 per cent.

Losers
11 PLC on the other hand led the losers’ pack when it opened at N182.93 per share and closed at N173.79 per share, having a N9.14 or 5.00 per cent fall.

JAIZ BANK PLC followed with an opening price of 0.80 kobo per share and a closing price of 0.76 kobo per share, falling by 0.04 kobo or 5.00 per cent.

OKOMU OIL PALM PLC opened at N69.09 per share and closed at N65.64 per share, coming third on the losers’ table by N3.45 or 4.99 per cent.
